Latest News: 2010 Ski Trip
36 pupils from Albany Science College have just returned from Italy where they completed a week long snowsports course in skiing or snowboarding. The beginners groups did exceptionally well, having put skis on for the first time on Monday and yet tackling some tricky red runs by the end of the week. The Intermediate and advanced skiers managed to complete just about every run in resort, whilst also skiing off piste and on mogul fields!
Two Albany pupils did particularly well this year. Tom Price in Year 10 achieved 5* with distinction for snowboarding - the highest possible qualification! Alex Yardley in Year 10 achieved 5* for her skiing and was identified as a future BASI scholarship candidate and was asked to contact the GB Ski Team by her instructor.
The time on the slopes was accompanied by apres ski activities which allowed pupils to show their skills in other areas such as bowling, ice skating, dancing and pizza eating!
A great trip and thanks to all pupils for their hard work, good team work, superb manners and a positive attitude!
