Key Stage 3 French

The course involves Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing in a variety of different contexts.

Topics covered in Year 7 include Greetings, Personal Information, In the Classroom, Alphabet, Numbers to 100 and dates, Family, Pets, Colours, Where I live and Telling the time as well as pronunciation skills, dictionary skills and grammar rules.

In Years 8 and 9 pupils follow the FCSE specification more details of which can be found on the AQA website: www.aqa.org.

Topics covered at FCSE level are Food & Drink, Holidays, Region & Environment and Home Life.

Key Stage 4 French

Pupils work towards full course GCSE currently following the AQA syllabus.

The skills involved are:

Listening (examination at end of Year 11)

Speaking (controlled assessment tasks produced over the two year course)

Reading (examination at end of Year 11)

Writing (controlled assessment tasks produced over the two year course)

 

Units covered are Health, Relationships & Choices, Leisure, Home & Environment, Work & Education, Work Experience, Holidays and Environment.
